About The Association

The Osteoathic & Naprapathic Association of Newfoundland and Labrador (ONNL)'s responsibilities include:

Developing programs to help osteopathic manual practitioners maintain and improve their
knowledge and skills.

Investigating complaints.

Developing standards of admission to the osteopathy (manual) profession in Newfoundland
and Labrador.

Establishing guidelines and standards for members's conduct and practice.

Disciplining members who are incapacitated or incompetent or have committed acts of professional
misconduct.

ONNL Objectives

The Osteopathic & Naprapathic Association of Newfoundland and Labrador has the following objectives:

To supervise the practice of its members and to govern them in accordance with its policies and
codes of ethic.

To establish, maintain and develop standards of qualification for persons to be issued certificates
of registration to practice as osteopathic manual practitioners in this Canadian province.

To establish, maintain and develop programs and standards of practice to assure the quality of
profession.

To establish, maintain and develop standards of knowledge and skill and programs to promote
continuing evaluation, competence and improvement among ONNL members.

To establish, maintain and develop standards of professional ethics for ONNL members.

To promote and enhance relations between ONNL and its members, key stakeholders, and the
public.

To establish, maintain and develop standards and programs to promote the ability of members
to respond to changes in practice, environments, advances in technology and other emerging
issues.

Any other objects relating to human health care in Newfoundland and Labrador the Association
considers desirable.
